Tea Tonic

I'd just like to share a simply tea recipe that I drink most days. I prefer it cold, but hot's just as good. I'm not going to list all the stats regarding its far reaching health benefits, there's far too many; (I'm sure everyone has a great recipe to be shared).

Use organic where possible, growing your own trumps that.


Ginger and turmeric - grated or blitz

Sour Sop leaves - you can buy dried leaves

Whole peppercorns

Sweet wormwood - This grows abundantly in the summer. Pick, dry, blitz and store in a jar

Cleavers leaf - Yet again, grows abundantly in the summer. This can be added after you've washed it, just pop it it the pot.

Water - Use filtered or bottled, I wouldn't rely on the tap.

Throw everything in the pot, lid on, bring to touch a boil, then leave to infuse down to room temperature.

Once chilled pass through a sieve into glass jars.


I like mine cold with slices of lemon and shilijit. I freeze my shilijit in blocks, when I want some I just scrap enough off for my daily boost.


It makes a great tea on heathy steroids, it will store in the fridge for a couple weeks.
