Taken is a musical experiment in refraction: twelve distinctive arrangements of one song, each revealing a different emotional colour hidden within the same words.
The song begins with two people occupying the same field beneath the same sun, yet moving towards different outcomes. Drawing upon the wheat and tares, the narrow gate, the torn veil and the rainbow covenant, Taken reimagines separation not simply as removal from one physical place, but as a bifurcation of trajectories. The environment may remain shared while the future experienced by each participant begins to diverge.
Across twelve arrangements, the lyric passes through changing musical landscapes. What sounds like revelation in one version may become warning, liberation, mystery or celebration in another. The words remain recognisable, but every arrangement illuminates a different part of their internal architecture.
The album therefore behaves like the prism depicted on its cover. One coherent signal enters; twelve colours emerge. Nothing essential is lost, yet the possibilities concealed within the original composition become visible through variation.
At the centre of the journey is the rainbow bridge: the body’s latent spectrum brought into alignment until what appeared to be a prison becomes a prism. The participant is not merely taken somewhere else, but taken through an internal transformation—through the field, through differentiation and into an outcome the former baseline could not produce.
Taken is not a conventional collection of remixes. It is one revelation viewed from twelve positions: twelve arrangements, one song, and a single beam of meaning opening into an entire spectrum.
