Breathing Underwater
[Intro]
With the flame of a soul
Creation formed a daughter
And felt a living heartbeat
Breathing underwater
[Verse]
Dead words can be copied
Printed and passed along
Repeated by a thousand mouths
That never heard a single song
The Word's not an ancient relic
Or a story carved in time
It's a man imbued with presence
The kind actors cannot define
[Pre-Chorus]
When breath became vibrations
Silence was annoyed
That meaning found a living gate
While passing through the void
[Chorus]
A blinding flash of light
Followed by the rumble
of distant thunder
Air rushed in to fill the void
Like she was breathing...
underwater
Like she was breathing...
underwater
[Verse]
The temple was the speaker
The field became her ear
The current crossed the distance
Her faith's louder than fear
Sound couldn't open up the gate
Volume couldn't turn the key
The signal only found structures
That were ready to receive
[Pre-Chorus]
Breath became a multitude
Creatures filled the Earth
Night and Day had come and gone
The living Word had given birth
[Chorus]
A blinding flash of light
Followed by the rumble
of distant thunder
Air rushed in to fill the void
Like she was breathing...
underwater
Like she was breathing...
underwater
[Bridge]
Water held a promise
Energy could not decide
Fire could not become a heart
Or move the breath inside
The gradient held the power
The gate released the flow
The living architecture realised
Energy needed somewhere to go
Potential became movement
And movement found a tongue
The universe became the song
It had carried all along
[Final Refrain]
The Word became the current
The current became the chord
The chord became a living world
And the world became the Word
[Outro]
Before the mouth could name it
Before the eye could see
An order moved through silence…
And the silence
Learned to breathe
