A Note About my Music
I do not regard technology as a substitute for creativity, but as an instrument that allows original lyrics, ideas and emotional direction to be developed into complete musical compositions.
The meaning of each song begins with the lyrics. Each production works with the emotional energy of the lyric by shaping the atmosphere, instrumentation, voice and emotional movement of each song. The result is an original body of music that has genuine depth and value. The kind of value that cannot be reproduced by putting prompts into a computer.
I believe the value of music can be ultimately found in the effect it has on the listener. It's about what a song communicates. That's why I spend so much time writing and perfecting the lyrics.
If music cannot reach the listener, it is intrinsically dead regardless of whatever methods of production have been used, and whatever frequencies instruments are tuned to. A composition created with technological assistance can carry genuine emotion, depth and meaning which means that the listener is the best judge. If you liked the song and it has a beneficial impact on you, then that is all that matters to me.
To be against music content simply because you think computers helped in the production, is a prejudice born out of ignorance. Modern music is produced with the help of computers and digital studio effects and has been for a long time.
The real question is whether or not my music reached you and if it did, then it doesn't really matter how it was produced. Production methods, credentials or technical specifications cannot make anything dead come to life, that's always been the case and technology doesn't change anything in this regard.
Artistic freedom includes allowing people to decide for themselves whether the music speaks to them. What matters to me is continuing to create work with emotional integrity and giving it the opportunity to reach those who are ready to receive it.
Not everyone will connect with my music, and that is perfectly acceptable. If these songs move you, make you think or remain with you after listening, then they have fulfilled their purpose.
If you don't like my music, don't listen to it. I won't be offended.
