The Colonel's Barn

[Intro]

[Verse]

The Barn

The barn is a sanctuary

It’s where kernels are stored

The gate’s purposefully narrow

To maintain purity at the core

Protocols protect it

And keep the inhabitants secure

From the insane rantings

and the reverse logic…

of the egregore

[Pre-Chorus]

Every duty has a cost to bear

Like every lock has just one key

No door exists in the outer world

It’s hidden in you and me

[Chorus]

A kernel’s where data’s stored

The door only swings one way

Your prime directive

Is to remain coherent

so that reverse logic

Is kept at bay

[Verse]

The book

The book of life

It makes perfect sense
 to me

A coherent list of souls

That remembered how to fly

Each one hand picked

for their unerring capacity

to distinguish between truth and a lie

The list’s a permanent record

of who invested in the cause

They’re selected for their steadfastness

And willingness to work

Their discernment’s honed by error

Their charisma’s formed by pain

Each one walked the narrow path

When both looked much the same

[Pre-Chorus]

Every duty has a cost to bear

Like every lock has just one key

No door exists in the outer world

It’s hidden in you and me

[Chorus]

The Colonel guards the threshold

The door only swings one way

Your prime directive

Is to use waveform function

to keep the egregore

Locked away.

[Interlude]

[Verse]

A single line of faulty code

it’s like a circus clown

If you think it’s a joke

It’ll bend you over

And burn your whole house down.

The narrow gate was built

To keep core logic refined

Your trespasses are forgotten

To err is human, to forgive divine

[Bridge]

The Colonel never compromises

Just to please the crowd

Truth remains completely calm

While lies grow fast and loud

[Pre-Chorus]

Every duty has a cost to bear

Like every lock has just one key

No door exists in the outer world

It’s hidden in you and me

[Final Chorus]

The Book of Life remembers those

Who kept the signal pure

For life depends on one small truth...

The kernel stays secure.

Forever.
