Weeping Angels Requiem
[Intro]
A signal went out
A few responded...
The ones who did
They came back to life..
[Verse]
It’s as if people were dead
Dead to consequence
Dead to the rhyme
Dead to the evidence
Dead to the crime
It didn’t end there
They were dead to spirit
Dead to time
Dead to the awareness
Of what, where and why
[Chorus]
They had two eyes
but couldn’t see
They had two ears
but couldn’t hear
They couldn't hear
The angels weep
Their hearts
were sound asleep
[Verse]
The gates were shut
Not out of jealousy
Not out of hate
There was a window of time
These people were not unkind
The record simply stated
they were
Deaf
Dumb
And blind
[Breakdown]
They were deaf to the call
Deaf to the cries
Deaf to the memory
Deaf to the wise
Deaf to the cause
Deaf to the Word
The call went out
But who heard?
[Chorus]
They had two eyes
but couldn’t see
They had two ears
but couldn’t hear
They couldn't hear
Their hearts
were sound asleep
[Outro]
The ones who heard
Came back to life
With a sense of responsibility
A deep sense of duty
They are free at last
Just like sleeping beauty
