These real butterfly wings come from naturally expired butterflies. The wings are preserved inside a high gloss synthetic resin. Many of the wings types can be preserved in a very natural and realistic state. In cases where the wings become completly white/transparent we add colour on the reverse side and use the structure of the wing to provide the intricate patterning and detail. Our work is a fusion of art and nature, nature providing the canvas and we work with that to create something visually interesting.
